Brown Shop Coat (JA116)

These Brown Shop Coats are the most useful signifier of tradesman/shopkeeper for any stage character. Where would the Four Candles sketch be without them?

We have had these made in a traditional manner so they can be used in period productions as well as the present day.

They feature an adjustable half belt on the back and openings above pockets in order that trouser pockets can be accessed.

The buttons are particularly authentic being fixed with rings on the back. This was a feature which meant the buttons could be removed so the coats could be hygienically boiled and starched.
